PREREQUISITES
The general and course admission requirements for studies at the study programme for Recreation Instructors.
COURSE AIM
The students should have knowledge of childhood and adolecence from different sociological perspective. They should have knowledge about perspective of theory science and working procedures. The students should be able to apply a scientific way of working.
The students should have knowledge about:
-social, cultural, linguistic and economical differents in the community,
-relation between childhood and adolecence from a sociological perspective and children«s and young people«s development,
-socialization process and different socialization theories,
-social problems in the community, children and young people who are being treaded badly,
-basic scientific approach, research methodology and report writing,
-media and the influence,
-the social consequences of the computerization.
The students should work on:
-attitudes and values in relation to childhood from a sociological perspective, sex roles and equality of opportunity.
The students should be able to:
-co-operate in groups,
-apply a scientific way of working, plan, carry out and report a survey.
CONTENTS
The students should critical evaluate a research report/a report of a work with development as an introduction to the research methodology and the individual project work. A project work in group is carried out in relation to childhood and adolecence from a sociological perspective.
TEACHING
Lectures, lessons, seminars, group discussions.
EXAMINATION
Assessment of the project work, its content and process and the written report. Literature seminars of the course literature.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
