COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give basic knowledge about Maria Montessori, her view of learning and development, research and methods.

CONTENTS
¥ Maria Montessori - philosophy - basic principles ¥ Independence education / Learning for Life ¥ Training of sensory skills, acquisition of writing and reading skills, mathematics, culture ¥ The role as a teacher

TEACHING
The course should give possibilities for the student to acquire the content of the course through a problem-directed way of working. The form of the teaching is lectures, discussions, laboratory work, literature seminars and an individual work with possibility to field studies.

EXAMINATION
The students will be graded on their written and oral assessments, literature examinations - individual or in groups, according to the agreement between teacher and students.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
