PREREQUISITES
Certification as a compulsory school teacher or equivalet.

COURSE AIM
The students should during the course: -develop understanding of how the technique, from different aspects, has influented the man, the natural environment and society, -get in-depth knowledge about tools, methods and materials with a special attention to how these can be part of the technical education at compulsory comprehensive school, -carry out construction practices and solving of problems which contain technical items/technical systems, -carry out studies of technical systems and the use of these, -study inventions as well as important changes that are resulted in new technique.

CONTENTS
The technology from a historical and environmental perspective. Tools and technical aids. Technique in the home and the everyday-life. Craft and transport techniques, automatic control. Costruction and valuation of technical solutions. The student«s own work with technical development in the school.

TEACHING
Lectures and practical assignements. An individual work with development.

EXAMINATION
The examination is written and oral, individual and in group.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
