COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to provide the students with knowledge about the acquisition processes concerning reading and writing for children with different languages.

CONTENTS
- acquisition of reading skills and cognition - acquisition of reading and writing skills in the native language and in a second language - acquisition of reading and writing skills in Finnish

TEACHING
- lectures - group discussions - theme work on different methods and materials - educational visit to school of education and to teaching practice school in Uleåborg

EXAMINATION
The students will be graded on assignment reports.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass
