PÄP405 Advanced Course in Theory and Practice of Teaching 22.5 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q1-2 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the course PÄP404. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students: acquire knowledge of the demands and expectations set on compulsory school teachers acquire knowledge of the educational leadership of a teacher acquire knowledge of different ways of securing the quality of teaching develop their ability to reflect on their own and others' basic educational outlook gain familiarity with a scientific approach to learning and the teaching role CONTENTS The teaching role and professional identity Leadership Group processes/conflicts/handling conflicts Communication/conversations/development reviews Supervising/mentoring Tests/grades Work placement - preparation, realization and evaluation Final degree project - realization and reporting TEACHING The teaching will take the form of lectures, seminars and participant orientated learning. The practical aspects of the degree project will be completed during the work placement. EXAMINATION Written and oral examination, individually and in groups. Evaluation of work placement. The final degree project is to be reported and will be graded. To obtain a passing grade, the students will be required to attend at least one seminar for the degree projects in addition to the two they participate in.
