TIMEPERIOD: Q1 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the courses PÄL005 and PÄP401. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students acquire knowledge of pupils as active and creating individuals in the process of knowledge, and also develop understanding of the importance of connecting pupils' learning to their ideas and experiences. They are also to acquire a comprehensive view of pupils' difficulties at school that enables them to view causes and measures from different perspectives. Finally, they are to develop ability to apply - work procedures that, based on the individual pupil's needs, experiences and interests, prevent school problems and promote development - work procedures that, based on the individual pupil's resources and development potential, meet pupils' right to be perceived as competent CONTENTS - child and adolescent development and learning in theory and practice - elementary acquisition of reading and mathematical skills - pupils in need of special support and encouragement and the schools' responsibility of providing for these pupils' needs - remedial teaching, remedial teaching methods - own attitudes and values concerning pupils in need of special support and encouragement - computers and IT as teaching aids in remedial teaching TEACHING The course will be characterized by problem solving work procedures and by integration of theory and practice. EXAMINATION Written and oral examination, individually and in groups. Evaluation of work placement and work placements assignments. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass. ITEMS/CREDITS | |
