PÄP069 Reggio Emilia and its influence on ways of working 7.5 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q3-4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the courses PÄP044 and PÄS025 or PÄS026 or PÄS027. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students acquire knowledge of - the philosophy of Reggio Emilia, its methods of work and historical and cultural development - the concept of knowledge and how it is problemized - their own attitude to and outlook on children - problem orientated work procedures and methods - methods for observing children, documentation, reflection and analysis - different forms of observation and documentation - how to apply these different techniques, analyse and evaluate their fields of application - the significance of the aesthetical subjects, for instance in the form of creative workshops as aid for problem orientated and investigative methods of work in practical and theoretical learning CONTENTS The course treats and studies: The history and culture of Reggio Emilia The concept of knowledge The students' own outlooks on and attitudes to children Problem based learning and investigative methods of work Educational documentation Different techniques and own exercises Required reading according to list The course will be process orientated on basis of the group's own process. The aesthetical subjects will be used both in the students' own creative activities and in creative activities combined with problem solving assignments during work placement and in the professional activities of everyday life. TEACHING The teaching will carried out in the form of lectures, seminars, group work and supervision. The tuition is meant to provide the students with support and structure to assimilate the content of the course. EXAMINATION Written and oral examination, individually and in groups.
