PREREQUISITES
General entrance requirements and course admission requirements for teacher training.

COURSE AIM
The aims of the course are that the students:
- acquire knowledge of development and group psychology
- gain practical experience of what it is that takes place in different development, learning
and teaching process.
- develop an ability to evaluate and analyse child and adolescent development and learning
on basis of a comprehensive view on knowledge, skills, and the tasks of school in society.
- acquire knowledge of information retrieval

CONTENTS
Children´s development and living conditions in a multicultural society.
Learning and educational theories.
Child and adolescent development.
Introduction to didactics.
The teaching role and its effects on learning.
Different perspectives in teaching.
Interdisciplinary fields of knowledge in comprehensive school.
Information retrieval.
Degree project.

TEACHING
Theoretical studies and practical training will be integrated. The teaching practice gives four academic credits and will be carried out in the 4th-6th- form of comprehensive school. The teaching will take the form of lectures, lesson and seminars. The students will begin working on the scientific background to their degree projects and will be required to prepare a research memorandum for the project.

EXAMINATION
Written and oral examination, individually and in group.
Evaluation of work placement and of degree project.
