PÄN615 The Living Schoolyard 15.0 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q3-4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed nursery- and infant teacher, recreation instructor or teacher training. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students acquire knowledge of - the significance of schoolyards to children's mental, social and motoric development - how the schoolyard can be designed to be an educational asset in all school activities - how the school garden can be used as a base for integration of school subjects - how theoretical knowledge and practical skills can be joined together in order to create meaningful environmental studies, and all of this from a didactic perspective. CONTENTS The schoolyard as a source of inspiration to creative production. The school garden as teaching aid. Different communicative forms of expression. Development work. TEACHING The course participants will be offered active participation in new, creative work procedures and designs of work. There will be a total of five teaching occasions, which will take place on Thursdays and Fridays in Luleå. EXAMINATION Written and oral course assignments and a seminar focused on the students' individual development work. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass. ITEMS/CREDITS | |
