COURSE AIM
The content of the arena is defined as knowledge of processes of learning for individuals, groups and organisations in different environments and contexts. A distinctive trait of the arena is that the undergraduate studies are an integrated part of the process in which new knowledge is formed.

The aims of the basic course are to guide the course participants into independent acquisition of knowledge, but also into co-operation and joint learning in a group. The aim is also that students study and understand the importance of development of knowledge in education and in working life. The course participants are to choose their future educational programme during the basic course.

Learning and situations of learning, 10 credits
During this aspect of the course different professions/situations of learning a university education may lead to will be studied. Project-directed and creative work procedures will be applied.

What is knowledge?, 10 credits
During this aspect of the course knowledge and skill will be studied more closely and from a broad perspective.

TEACHING
Each aspect of the course is planned and carried out in co-operation with the students, who actively participate in panning, realisation and evaluation of their own training.

The emphasis is on problem orientated and project-directed work procedures. There will be exercises, seminars and lectures. There is strong emphasis on the students working independently and taking responsibility in their learning.


EXAMINATION
Oral and written presentations individually and in groups.
