LUA103 The Foundation of Science 7.5 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q 2 and 4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES General entrance requirements. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students acquire - an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge - basic understanding of scientific theories and methods - skills in information search and library science - a critical and reflecting approach to research and science CONTENTS The course treats the development of knowledge through the course of time and science as the foundation of knowledge. Knowledge as a phenomenon and practical knowledge are treated from the perspectives of philosophy, the history of ideas and science and the theory of science. Different perspectives on learning, such as psychological, sociological and neurophysical, are studied. In addition, practical information search, data acquisition and library science are included in the course. TEACHING The teaching will carried out in the form of lectures, seminars, group work and supervision. The tuition is meant to provide the students with support and structure to assimilate the content of the course. EXAMINATION Written and oral examination, individually and in groups.
