TIMEPERIOD: Q 1 and 3 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES General entrance requirements. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students - gain awareness of the significance of outlooks on people and knowledge to learning from a multicultural perspective - acquire a scientific approach to knowledge and learning - acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of individual and group processes - gain familiarity with the policy and procedure guidelines and requirements for school and day-centres for school-age children CONTENTS Individual and group processes Practical-aesthetical work procedures The basics of acquisition of reading and mathematical skills Child and adolescent development Attitudes and human relations Basic educational approaches and concepts Media and information search TEACHING The course is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, and by varied work procedures and forms of teaching that include anything from lectures to supervision in small groups. The learning process requires active participation in class. A camp involving sleeping accommodation is included in the course. EXAMINATION Oral and written, varied forms of examination.
