TIMEPERIOD: I + II LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Håkan Appelblad Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the B-course in social and economic geography COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that students: - gain increased knowledge of how natural resources are used and the environmental consequences - acquire increased knowledge of population, economy and politics of arctic and sub-arctic areas in the northern hemisphere in particular - acquire in-depth knowledge of current research and public discussions on the issues indicated above CONTENTS ITEM 1. Man and environment with special attention to arctic and sub-arctic areas in the Northern Hemisphere. Five credits. Analysis of the relationship between man and environment. Comparisons between different geographical areas in the world with emphasis on the Northern Hemisphere.
