TIMEPERIOD: IV LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Å Löfgren Univ adj PREREQUISITES None except general. COURSE AIM - To get a survey of the history of Western and Eastern Europe - To obtain knowledge of the political and economic situation in Europe to-day - To analyse and take a point of view to essential problems in Europe to-morrow CONTENTS In the historical survey the main point lies on tendencies to integration and disintegration. A comparison between Eastern and Western Europe during the twentieth century will be made. The background, causes and consequences to the revolution of 1989 in Eastern Europe will be examined. The organization structure of the European Union and its decision making apparatus as well as its enlargement efforts will be especially attentioned.
Finally some questions about thr future of Europe will be exposed and discussed, f.i. what part Russia will play in the European concert to-morrow.
