TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Lars Bergström Fo ing PREREQUISITES COURSE AIM To give skill in the use of some mathematical methods from the fields of Laplace transforms,calculus of several variables, vector analysis, partial differential equations and numerical analysis. CONTENTS Laplacetransforms: Definition of the Laplace Transform, Properties of the Laplace Transform, Inverse Laplace Transform, Solving Initial Value Problems. Calculus of several variables: Functions of several variables, partial derivative, double- and triple integrals, change of variables. Vector analysis: Gradient, Divergens and Curl of a Vector Field, Line- and Surface integrals. Greens Theorem, Gauss Theorem. Partial Differential Equations: Mathematical models for diffusion, wave propagation and heat transport. Solving of partial differential equations by separation of variables. Numerical Methods: Solution of ordinary- and partial differential equations with finite difference methods. TEACHING EXAMINATION COURSE GRADE SCALE: A-F ITEMS/CREDITS | |
