SMS021 Signals and Systems II 6.0 ECTS credits
TIMEPERIOD: Quarter 4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Anders Grennberg Bitr prof PREREQUISITES COURSE AIM The course gives ability to use certain mathematical and statistical standard methods needed for treating signals where disturbances occur. Applications are in electrical engineering, signal and image processing, communication and automatic control. Great emphasis will be given to illustrate the application of the methods by using examples from these areas. CONTENTS Multidimensional stochastic variables including Gaussian. Random processes: Stationary processes, spectral representation, linear processes, filtering, prediction, Statistical theory for stochastic processes. Noise as a random process. Detection of signals in additive noise. Matched filters. Three obligatory computer exercises using MATLAB are required: Simulation of gaussian processes. AR- and MA-processes. Spectral properties of random processes and filters, estimation of signals in noise (LMMSE), matched filters. TEACHING EXAMINATION COURSE GRADE SCALE: ITEMS/CREDITS
