PREREQUISITES
Three years of Swedish in upper secondary school.


COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is:
- to provide basic knowledge of the subject theory of Swedish as a second language
- to establish methodical aspects when teaching Swedish as a second language.


CONTENTS
Module 1. Immigrant knowledge, psycholinguistics and socio-linguistics,
6 points.
Module 2. Phonetics, 7.5 credits.
Module 3. Grammar and linguistic usage, 7.5 credits.
Module 4. Second language learning, 7.5 credits.
Module 5. Project work, 1.5 credits.


TEACHING
The course consists of lectures, classes and group exercises.
Active participation is required and attendance is therefore compulsory.


EXAMINATION
The examination will be in form of continuous assessment as well as written tests in module 1-4. Written documentation of group work in module 1 and project work in module 5. The course will be graded as above.
