PREREQUISITES
Applicants must have completed the courses KSP046, PÄP044 and PÄS027.

COURSE AIM
The aims of the course are that students:
- develop ability to create a learning environment for all pupils at school on basis of the policy
and procedure guidelines/requirements for comprehensive school
- acquire knowledge of research methodology

CONTENTS
Pupils with emotional, social and physical difficulties.
The community's support to children with special difficulties.
Methods for approaching pupils in need of special support.
Alternative forms of communication.
Dyslexia.
Bullying.
Field studies.
Research methodology and statistics.

TEACHING
The epistemological approach will be problem-based work procedures that include lectures, seminars and group-work.
The course will include three days of field studies.
Research methodology will be integrated in the course.


EXAMINATION
Written and oral examination, individually and in groups.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
