COURSE AIM - to give knowledge about concepts and methods within the field of customer focused product development, from identification of customer needs, analysis and transformation of product demand, to measurement of the attained customer satisfaction; - to provide the ability to critically examine and assess observation material (i.e. from customer surveys) with the aim of identifying conscious and unconscious customer needs; - to provide the ability to plan and assess experiments in connection with customer surveys; - to provide the ability to apply statistical methods in customer focused product development; CONTENTS Market investigations. Focus groups. The Kano model, Tools for identification and grouping of customer needs, Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Conjoint Analysis, Multivariate methods such as factor analysis and principal component analysis, Contingency tables. Measurements on customer satisfaction.
