MAM056 Mathematics for EEIGM 6.0 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Studierektor PREREQUISITES The basic mathematics course for first year engineering students. COURSE AIM The course is designed to give the student knowledge of some mathematical methods for applications in material science and capability to apply these methods. CONTENTS Complex functions: The Cauchy-Riemann equations, complex integration, the Cauchy theorem,Laurent series expansion, the residue theorem and conformal mapping. Laplace transform: Basic properties, convolution, inversion, application to ordinary differential equations. Fourier analysis: Fourier series, periodic functions, properties of Fourier series. Partial differential equations: The wave equation, the heat conduction equation and the Laplace equation. Boundary conditions, initial conditions, solution with the method of separation of variables. TEACHING Instruction consists of lectures. EXAMINATION Examination is written. Correction of examination according to alternative A in "Regler för tentamen". COURSE GRADE SCALE: ITEMS/CREDITS | |
