TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE: EXAMINER I Holmer, Arbetsmiljöinst. Solna Prof PREREQUISITES General eligibility for admission to university courses and a good knowledge in English. COURSE AIM The course shall give the basic knowledge on the effects of the thermal climate on man's comfort, performance and health. It shall teach the students the basic methods of measurement and assessment of the thermal environment and principles and measures of its improvement and control. CONTENTS Physics of heat exchange; Human temperature regulation; Indoor environments; Effects of thermal climate; Thermal Stress; Thermal comfort; Hot and cold environments: Climate indices; Environmental control and personal protection; Measurements, assessments and instrumentation. TEACHING Lectures and compulsory laboratory practicals. EXAMINATION Written examination, essay writing and submission of laboratory reports. COURSE GRADE SCALE: ITEMS/CREDITS | |
