COURSE AIM
To give the student ability to understand the fundaments of ecology, ecotoxicology and environmental protection.

CONTENTS
General ecology. Structure and function of ecosystems, diversity and richness of species, energy flow and pathways of elements in the ecosystems. Ecology of organisms, populations and communities. Ecotoxicology. Transport of pollutants in air, soil and water and its effects on ecosystems, organisms and human health. Field trip to common ecosystems in the Luleå region. Laboratory work showing ecotoxicological principals.
