To have passed previous courses up to and including term 2.
COURSE AIM
The students should:
-acquire knowledge about the natural environment, man and the technical environment
-acquire an ecological approach through understanding of scientific concepts and natural co-operations
-be stimulated to keep their interest in outdoor life, nature and environment.
CONTENTS
Excursions and examinations of ecological, physical geographic and astronomical nature.
Structure and function of the ecosystem and also how it is influenced by man and technique.
Training of sensory skills in the natural environment.
Basic skills for outdoor life during different seasons.
TEACHING
Lessons and lectures are combined with excursions, field surveys, walking-tours, skiing tours, cross-country running exercises etc. Nights can be spent in the open air.
EXAMINATION
Oral and written assessment of grop projects and an individual course assignement.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
