PREREQUISITES
Differential and integral calculus.
COURSE AIM
To give the basic knowledge in classical thermodynamics and heat transfer that is nescessary for future studies and also to prepare the students to effectively use thermodynamics in the practice of engineering.
CONTENTS
Classical Thermodynamics: Properties of a pure substance. Work and heat. The first and second law of thermodynamics. Some power and refrigeration cycles.
Heat Transfer: Conduction. Forced and natural convection. Radiation. Combined modes of heat transfer.
Compulsory laboratory work.
