COURSE AIM
To provide basic knowledge on structure, processing and use of polymeric and ceramic engineering materials.

Polymers (70% of the course):
Polymer structure
Glass transition temperature
Crystallinity
Rubbers
Thermosets
Viscoelasticity, phenomena, molecular mechanisms and theory
Materials selection and design
Processing methods
Ceramics (30% of the course):
Properties and applications
Strengh, Weibull distribution, time dependant properties
Structure of ceramics, glass, processing part 1
