PREREQUISITES
COURSE AIM
The course is intended to give an introduction to vector analysis, partial differential equations, complex analysis and some of the applications of these fields of mathematics.
CONTENTS
Vector analysis: Line integrals, surface integrals, divergence, curl, gradient, divergence theorem, Stoke«s theorem.
Partial differential equations: Fourier series, separation of variables, the wave equation, the heat equation, the circular membrane.
Complex analysis: Analytic functions, Cauchy-Riemann equations, complex integration, Cauchy«s integral theorem, Laurent series, the residue theorem, conformal mapping.
