COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to teach the students to analyse the concept bilingualism from different aspects and to provide insight toÊlanguage learning with bilingual children as well as presenting different methods to help the bilingual development of children in pre-school/ school.
CONTENTS
- bilingual/ multilingual development both at social and at individual levels
- different ways of working in pre-school/school to strengthen and develop the bilingual identities and competence of children
TEACHING
- lectures and literature studies
- group discussions
- interviews
- practical exercises in using different methods when teaching bilingual children
- visiting the language school in Haparanda
EXAMINATION
The students will be graded on both oral and written exercises and on a written report.
