To have passed the courses KSP011 and KSP012 or KSP013.
COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to:
- develop the students' own spoken language when different situations occur, where great importance is attached to the communicative part
- provide the students with knowledge of how different methods of teaching in language education can take care of the different needs and interests of children
- provide the students with knowledge about different strategies that pupils/ children use when acquiring a new language
- provide the students with a picture of how people in different English- speaking countries live.
- provide the students with larger and more active vocabularies through literature reading
- learn the grammatical part of the language in a natural way through text reading and translation exercises
- study different typesÊof texts to give a more varied and true picture of English usage today.
- illustrate how different types of literary works can be used when working with children through reading English literature
- use the computer as an aid in language education
CONTENTS
Literature from the field of language with the emphasis on literature for children and young people
Cultural studies
Oral and written communication
Didactics, grammar, phonetics
Here the student should receive knowledge about:
- phonetic transcription, intonation/pronunciation
- varieties of pronunciation in the English language
- special difficulties in English pronunciation
TEACHING
Communicative exercises in speech and writing
Working individually and in groups
Seminars which are combined with practical exercise examples
Group discussions
If possible, a native teacher should be involved in teaching the course
EXAMINATION
The students will be graded on both oral and written assignments, that will be carried out individually and in groups. Active participation in the course is expected.
