General eligibility for admission. Good knowledge of written English is necessary.
COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge of theories and methods in neuropsychology, and to understand the relation between psychological abilities and structures, processes and states of the brain. The aim is also to provide knowledge of how the brain works under normal and abnormal conditions and how these conditions organise psychological abilities such as attention, perception, memory, language and problem-solving.
CONTENTS
The course deals with basic anatomy and physiology, functional systems and development of the brain as well as language and memory functions, spatial behaviour, lateralisation of functions, parietal lobes, temporal lobes, frontal lobes and neuropsychological investigations.
TEACHING
The teaching will be in the form of lectures and exercises.
EXAMINATION
Examination will be in the form of written exam.
