PREREQUISITES
Psychology B, 20 p, or the student has to have studied behavioural sciences at a level equivalent to 40 points (60 credits), specialising in psychology and applied psychology; or to have read at least two years of the five year psychology course programme.

COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to provide the students with deepened understanding of ecological psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, and system theory. The course shall also give the students training in research methodology, and an introduction to basic research as well as applied research.

CONTENTS
PART 1 Psychological theory, 5p. The course focuses on studies of the individualÕs conception of herself and her relation to the environment in a historical and ecological perspective. PART 2 Research methodology, 5 p Knowledge of planning and implemention of research activities, quantitative and qualitative methods. Introduction to current research projects within the department. PART 3 Individual work, 10 p. Thesis. Theoretical and methodological in-depth studies within a subject relevant to the course.

TEACHING
Teaching will be in the form of lectures, seminars, and laboratory work.

EXAMINATION
Taking part in seminars and lectures is mandatory. Written examination on each part. Oral and written presentation of individual work at a seminar. Each student shall, at least once, act as opponent of a colleagueÕs work. Course grades as above.
