PREREQUISITES


COURSE AIM
To provide knowledge of basic material science and of the behaviour of buildning materials under diffenent conditions.

CONTENTS
General part (10%): The structure of building materials. Mechanical properties. Environmental effects and durability. Heat transfer and moisture flow (25%) Cement chemistry and technology (25%) Concrete (20%) Metals, ceramics and composites (20%)

TEACHING
Lectures and laboratory work.

EXAMINATION
Written examination at the end of the course.
