CONTENTS
Within the frame of a case study (e.g. a simple bridge or a smaller building) the following questions are highlighted; - Which loads affect the construction? - How are the materials chosen? - How is a construction designed and dimensioned? - How is the foundation made? - How is the construction built? A large part of the course is a case study (ca. 20%) where the mentioned questions are treated. A visit on a building site is also a part (5%) and also some training in information seeking (10%). In connection with the different parts of the course an introduction is also given in the subjects that is included in the Civil Engineering Program. The introductions are given by the heads of departments of Structural Mechanics, Soil Mechancis, rock Mechanics, Mining Engineering, Structural Engineering, Steel Structures and construction Management.
