COURSE AIM
At the end of the course the student should be able
¥ to analyse linear regression models and choose a suitable regression model;
¥ to analyse different types of time series;
¥ to demonstrate extended knowledge of survey sampling with respect to sampling from finite populations;
¥ to demonstrate and apply extended knowledge when analysing data, e.g., from surveys;
¥ to use statistical software when analysing data;
¥ to present, both orally and in writing, statistical results and analyses.
CONTENTS
The course deals with simple and multiple regression analysis, including statistical inference, model diagnostics and selections as well as time series analysis, including lagged variables, autoregression, and seasonal time series. Different kinds of sampling methods together with estimation methods as well as special methods for analysing survey data, including factor analysis and discriminant analysis, are treated.
