TIMEPERIOD: Q1-4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES General entrance requirements. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students develop ability to use computers and other IT aids in their own learning, and also acquire knowledge of how these facilities can be used in teaching. The students are therefore to learn how to - analyse the role of IT as an educational tool at school and in teaching - search, work on and evaluate information via the computer - communicate via the computer - study and evaluate software - integrate IT into practical work as a teacher CONTENTS Operating systems Word processing Graphics Calculation Multimedia and presentation Issues of ethics and values Internet and home pages Communication and mass media The course is focused on use of computers as an educational tool and has a practical-didactic orientation. Learning, and in particular learning with the computer as a tool, will be treated. Organizational and other consequences of the use of computers in teaching will be considered. The computer and data communication, school intranets/the Internet, multimedia and presentation, and use of different types of soft and hardware are also included. The course participants' own development work with the computer as an educational tool is an important aspect of the course. TEACHING Lectures, lessons and group work. EXAMINATION Presentations individually and in groups will be evaluated by the students themselves together with the teacher. Presentation of multimedia production, Internet including homepage and literature seminars. Compulsory attendance applies to all group work and seminars. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
