TIMEPERIOD: Q 1 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the course PAS037, PAS042 and PAS040. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that students acquire basic knowledge of the natural, social and cultural conditions and the historical and religious distinctive character of the local community ability to see the dimension of time in the development of the local community and to reflect on their own identity ability to develop and work on their own attitudes in vital issues and ethics ability to work on and develop the local community as a resource in teaching sufficient knowledge to plan and work out a study of the local community as a form of teaching knowledge of didactic issues relevant to school CONTENTS Item 1 Social science 6 credits Religious life in the local community, its roots and growth Churches and religious currents in modern society Vital issues and ethics The original population and its development in the region The local community as part of the history of the Barents region The political and cultural development of the local community The geographic and ethnogeographic development of the local community
