TIMEPERIOD: Q1, Q4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the course PÄN042. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that the students acquire - basic knowledge of and insight into electrochemistry and chemical reaction velocity - basic knowledge of and insight into organic chemistry and biochemistry. CONTENTS Electrochemistry and electrolys Chemical reaction velocity Chemical bonding in organic chemistry Structure and isomerism Physical and chemical properties for different classes of compounds Theories and models for mechanisms of reaction in organic-chemical reaction theory Structure and function of protein, carbohydrates, fat, lipids, biological membranes and nyclein-acids Models for enzymatic catalysis and adjustment pf enzymatic activity Main tracks in the metabolism of carbohydrates and amino-acids TEACHING Lessons and lectures integrated with laboratory work.
