TIMEPERIOD: Q3-Q4:1 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the courses PÄS020, PÄP037, PÄP038 and PÄS021. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that students: - acquire knowledge of aspects of nature related to local, regional and global environment - acquire knowledge of the growth of the local community based on the agrarian, technical and industrial development of the area - acquire knowledge of the environmental problems and environmental programmes of their own municipalities, including Agenda 21 - acquire knowledge of the local technical development and its place in a broader context of technical history - learn how work for a sustainable ecological development together with children and young people - learn how to use computers and information technology as educational aids - acquire an ecological outlook by gaining understanding of scientific concepts and man's interplay with nature CONTENTS History of technology with an emphasis on local history. Practical technical assignments and experiments suitable for children and adolescents. The computer as a tool in the professional role. The shapes of energy, use and production from a social perspective. The fundamentals of ecology. Use of resources and waste disposal. Life-styles and the responsibility of the individual and the community for the local and global environment. Natural resources and how they are used in the region. Didactic and methodological issues connected to nature and environmental studies. Work on practical placement and introduction to the degree project. Field studies and practical training in the field of agriculture and forestry (includes one-night accommodation). TEACHING Lectures, lessons, group work, excursions and study visits.
