TIMEPERIOD: Q 3 LANGUAGE: EXAMINER PREREQUISITES General entrance requirements. COURSE AIM In addition to the common aims of the programme as specified in the study programme syllabus, the aims of the course are that students acquire - knowledge of the function and development of the human body in health and ill-health - knowledge of the biochemical processes of the cell - knowledge of the preconditions of life in cold climate - knowledge of different chemical matter and their significance to health, life environment and society - knowledge of the earth atmosphere and weather phenomena - knowledge of physical phenomena such as light and sound - ability to concretise to children scientific phenomena and experiences in the human body and in the local environment of everyday life - ability to reflect on the individual's and the society's responsibility for people's health and life environment CONTENTS Winter ecology. The anatomy and physiology of the human body. Cytology and genetics. Sex instruction. Alcohol, narcotics and tobacco. First aid and CPR. Organic chemistry, biochemistry and food chemistry. Toxic substance injurious to the environment and chemico-technical products used in everyday life. Earth atmosphere and meteorology. Vibrations and waves, acoustics and optics.
