TIMEPERIOD: Q 1, Q 3 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Stefan Hellmer Univ lekt PREREQUISITES General eligibility with at least grade 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course program or corresponding. COURSE AIM The primary aim of this course is to provide knowledge about the ways a market economy functions with respect to price formation and the allocation of resources. the aim is also to provide the ability to critically investigate and analyze economic relationships and trends. CONTENTS Included in the course is an overview of economic theory in order to create an understanding of how the resources are allocated with the help of the price mechanism. The behavior of different economic actors, such as households and firms and their importance in the market for goods and the factor markets are analyzed. The price formation and the allocation of resources under different market forms are also analyzed. Welfare problems in a market economy are also included in the course.
