TIMEPERIOD: Q 3-4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Kristina Ek Univ adj PREREQUISITES General eligibility with at least grade 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course program or corresponding. COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to provide basic knowledge about the problems of the developing countries and the reasons behind these problems. CONTENTS The course begins with an overview of developing theories. Domestic as well as international aspects of the economy of developing countries will be explored. Further; the impact of institutional factors, physical and human capital, technology and natural resources on the economy will be analyzed. The course will also consider distributional aspects on economic development. TEACHING Attendance of lectures. EXAMINATION Written exam 6.0 credits. Assignment report 1.5 credits.
