PREREQUISITES
General eligibility and mathematics from a three year high school education or equivalent.

COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give basic knowledge about how the economy works, and the ability to apply economic theory on current problems in society. The course should also enhance the ability to critically assess and analyze economic conditions and developments.

CONTENTS
Definitions of basic macroeconomic terminology are given. Macroeconomic theories explaining economic conditions and developments are presented. The course also treats unemployment, inflation and economic growth.

Examination is done through written tests.
