TIMEPERIOD: Q1, 2, 3, 4 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Kerstin Vännman Bitr prof PREREQUISITES Engineering Mathematics corresponding to part 1-3 of Mathematics MAM039-MAM047 or part I-VII of Mathematics MAM085 or MAM050. COURSE AIM ¥ To give the student knowledge about the basic concepts within probability and statistical inference; ¥ to give an ability to apply some fundamental statistical methods for analysis of data. CONTENTS The course deals with basic concepts in probability and statistics like EDA, the concept of probability, random variables, measure of location and spread, distributions, the central limit theorem, estimation, confidence intervals for parameters in wellknown distributions and for comparisons of means, and hypothesis testing.
