COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give the student knowledge about systems science as a scientific methodology as compared to the analytical perspective. The aim is also to give the student knowledge of general concepts and theories within systems science and information systems theory, as well as the interaction between organisations and information. Besides this the course should also give the student an insight in problems and issues that arise due to this interaction

CONTENTS
The content of the course is
- history and development of systems thinking
- different schools of thought
- methods and theories
- information systems theories
- design project for applying theories taught in class


TEACHING
Teaching will take the form of lectures, tutorials and seminars.
Teaching can be provided in English

EXAMINATION
Students will be assessed through oral and written presentation of the project and a final examination
Grades awarded: Fail, Pass and Pass with Distinction
