PREREQUISITES
The basic mathematics course for first year engineering students.


COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give a broad introduction to some interesting topics of Applied Mathematics, and to give some deeper insight of some selected parts.


CONTENTS
Introductory exampels and introduction to the following topics: Dimensional analysis and scaling, pertubation theory, calculus of variation, Hamiltonian theory, Sturm-Liouville theory, partial differential equations, transforms, integral equations, dynamical system, stability and chaos. Analytical and numerical solving methods.


TEACHING
The teaching consists of lectures, exercises and tutorials.


EXAMINATION
Written examination. Corrections of examination according to alternative A in " Regler för tentamen"
