TIMEPERIOD: LpIII LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Peter Wall Univ lekt PREREQUISITES First year mathematics COURSE AIM To give - knowledge about numerical algorithms for some different applications - ability to use numerical software and to evaluate the accuracy of the result - knowledge about some important transformation techniques for solving ordinary and partial differential equations. CONTENTS Numerical methods for nonlinear equations, linear system of equations, integration, and ordinary differential equations including systems of ODE and finite difference methods for partial differential equations. Solving ordinary differential equations using power series, Fourier series, and Laplace transform. Modelling and solving problems with partial differential equations.
