TIMEPERIOD: Quarter IV LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Mats Blomquist Univ adj PREREQUISITES General eligibility for university studies. COURSE AIM The goal of the course is to give an introduction to some important fields within information technology (IT). In a 1994 study by the IT-commission of the Swedish government, it is stated that "Through the present breakthrough of IT, the conditions for people and societies to operate change in a fundamental way." In the course you can e.g. get acquainted with the exploding market for World Wide Web (WWW) multimedia products. IT is, however, a much wider concept. Within the IT-concept belongs production, transfer and use of information in its various forms. CONTENTS Themes: 1. Seminars: A couple of seminars will be given to enlighten some aspects in the area. 2. Introduction to net.based project management 3. Project: We shall use problem-based learning.
