TIMEPERIOD: Q I LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Asta Pellinen-Wannberg Univ lekt PREREQUISITES MTF081 Space- and astrophysics. COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to deepen and broaden the student's understanding of the environment in space, the problems that it introduces into the operation of a satellite and the methods that may be used to overcome these problems. CONTENTS The space environment - effects of solar heating, low temperatures, vacuum conditions; atmospheric drag, debris and micro meteoroids; plasma interactions, spacecraft charging; chemical reaction with neutral species; radiation degradation.
