TIMEPERIOD: Quarter I LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Fredrik Salén Univ adj PREREQUISITES SBG005 or equivalent COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to give knowledge in how to specify, design and implement a system for interactive maps over the Internet. CONTENTS Environment: Internet Language and technics: HTML, XML, JavaScript, VbScript, ASP mm Format: JPEG, GIF, PNG, SVG, CGM, PDF m fl Audiovisual variables: Audio, animation Cartographic design: Roles for using visual variables Programming language: Visual Basic, Map Objects MapServer: Fat and thin clients, Map Objects Internet Map Server, ArcIMS Cartographic generalization: Selection, displacement, aggregation, transformation, simplification TEACHING Lectures and laboratory work.
