TIMEPERIOD: I, II LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Bertil Pålsson Univ lekt PREREQUISITES General COURSE AIM The course shall provide the students of chemistry an acquaintance with modern information techniques, and give them the skills in applying computer tools to chemical problems. CONTENTS á Basic computer knowledge including an introduction to the students network, how studentsŐ computers and the server may be used. How to use e-mail to reach other students, student groups and teachers. á Graphical and drawing programs for creating structural formulas. á Using spread-sheet programs for documentation of laboratory results. á Word processing with an emphasis on the writing of chemical reports, creating chemical reaction formulas, and the linking of chemical structures from drawing programs. á The use of Internet to search for chemical information. á Creation of presentations from simple templates and with dedicated programs.
