MPR036 Digital Factories 6.0 ECTS credits
TIMEPERIOD: Q IV LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Torbjörn Ilar Adj PREREQUISITES Any of MPR028, MPR003 or adequate knowledge about production simulation from other courses. COURSE AIM Digital factories is a common term for a family of modelling tools which supports development and operative control of manufacturing systems. The family contains of tools such as production simulators, robot simulators and virtual reality. Each of these tools has excellent opportunities to, in different areas, support the demands for prediction and communication which is given from concurrent engineering methods. The course shall give deep knowledge about how to effectively apply these tools to support development of manufacturing systems CONTENTS The course consists of lectures (20%) and laboratories/cases (80%). The lectures will cover different types modelling tools and the application of these tools. Laboratories will give the students "hands on" experiences with different modelling tools, and that knowledge will be applied in an industrial case. The industrial case will include all stages in a production modelling project, from the definition of aims to presentation of result, and will performed in groups. TEACHING EXAMINATION Continues examination with course grade U,3,4,5. COURSE GRADE SCALE: U, 3, 4, 5 ITEMS/CREDITS
